the rate of £2 o week, the additional pensions to be 214 administered under provisions similar to those of the Widows and Orphens Pensions Ordinance. I have now to ask your approval of this proposal by telegraph,

It is anticipated that these widows will receive some £60 a year each from the fund raised by public subscription; while they or their children will receive
a substantial capital sum, when the latter come of age. Liberal provision is also being made from the public fund for the dependents of the Indian and Chinese Police who were killed in the affray.
